Cleaning up the FE

Post by SportCustom »

Image

This 360had been rebuild about 500 miles before the truck was totaled it was rusty and had been painted the wrong color blue for a 70. I opened it up and the inside was still pristine so I decided to run it as a 360 instead of the 390 I was going to build. So I commenced to cleaning up the block and heads.

After a few days of cleaning and a fresh application of "Old Ford Blue"

The blue looks a little bright in these pics but it is the darker almost royal blue, the smurf blue that was on the block is long gone.

Waiting on the gaskets to start reassembly. Pics to follow...

I have been using light Ford Blue for Brakes and Suspension parts that I have replaced but my motor are always Dark Ford Blue or Black. Black for heat retention in race motors.

when everything is said and done, i will throw a 390 in mine probably. Or atleast build one for no reason, theres always a place for a large motor.
