Tomorrow (Saturday) is the "big" day im going to pull the front clip off, remove the motor and trans, put on the saginaw steering box and change out the column, tear the engine down, put a new cam in it and all that intails, put on new gaskets everywhere on the engine, and reinstall. Im not going to try and accomplish this in one day but im going to try and have it done by monday or tuesday. I'll try to remember pics along the way but im not promising anything! So guys wish me luck ill try to post on progress tomorrow.

Hey, I'll keep my fingers crossed for ya....but that's an awful tall order to accomplish in a single day. I'd say you'd be lucky to get half of that stuff done. Always expect the unexpected.

A tall order to say the least. But I commend you on your determination.
Still, thats a lot to get accomplished in just 2 or 3 days.
Im not saying that it cant be done. Just that its a lot and should be taken at a reasonable pace.
Most of all. I would suggest that you not rush it. See how well things go for you on the first day and then brake the entire goal down into segments accordingly.
Rushing is what causes mistakes and mistakes is what makes things take twice as long not to mention 10 times more expensive.

If its the first time you truck has been apart your bound to run into some surprises as a 30+ year old vehicle is sometimes reluctant to give up its parts.
Plus you dont know what you will run into after a few previous owners have 'worked their magic' on your truck in its past.

Dont bite off more than you can chew just because your hungry. Take small bites and enjoy the meal instead.

Well i built the motor a couple years ago and di everything myself so its not anything i havent done! I have a couple of people that are going to be helping me! Im not going to rush this because that is why i have tio do it this time but really when you start looking at wat has to be done it is doable! Well im off to have breakfast and go borrow a couple pullers for a friend then im going to start!!!

good luck, i counted 5 days of work at my best pace, a engine swap with or without clip removal i could do in one day.when it comes to engine teardowns and cleaning parts and being more careful i slow down a lot. if i happen to come in the house more than once cussing about something, the wife will try to talk me into stopping especially if its later in the day.i used to resist a lot but not so much anymore.

Well guys i didnt get it done today which is fine by me but i did get everyhting apart got the motor re-cammed and the new power steering box and column in! I didnt get the motor completly assembled bu tthats because i ran out of silicone. So hopefully tomorrow ill have it installed and the break in on the cam done!!! I'll post the pics i have later im just to tired to do it tonight!!!
