I'd leave it open so if the radiator your working with don't work out you can swap back to a new one that will fit the truck.
Or you could cut some sheet to the size or slightly bigger than the hole and just bolt it/screw it in place.

fill the hole, even temporarily. otherwise air will travel around the radiator instead of thru it, (path of least resistance) killing your cooling efficiency and possibly causing overheating.
