lot of pushing and twisting and yelling and yanking it off.Realigning it and some cursin' here and there and watch those knuckles and thats just the inners.

I'd almost suggest that you atleast loosen the rad support bolts so you can atleast flex it a little.

Coming along nice FBF!! In the second pic I saw a leg sticking out and it made me chuckle. Then I saw the third.
Should stay nice and dry now. And yes, the drum looks very heavy. Can't wait to see it in person!

Oh yeah, thanks for the pics!

Made a little progress today. Got the old manifold off. Broke some studs and need a right angle drill. I hope I can borrow one from work. Maybe I'll have to "rent" one from Home Depot.
Neighbor says he'll have the floor done over the weekend. I pulled out the floor mat. The driver side's gonna need some patches too.
You guys who have done complete restorations, god bless you. That's way more than I wanna do, ever.

Was able to drill out and retap 2 of the 3 broken bolts. I broke the drill bit in the top rear one. There's no drill that can drill a drill. Some of you may have seen my related posts in the "engine" and "parts wanted" sections. What's new besides manifold problems. Well... the passenger side floor pan is in along with some reconstruction of the side of the cab down by the floor. He's (my neighbor) got some more little filler pieces yet, but the big work is good. After the floor, the cab mount should be pretty straight forward, we'll see.... I pulled up the floor mat, yes it ripped, but I needed a new one any way, and found some rot on the drivers side floor as well. Not nearly as bad as the first side. The leftovers from the passenger side will provide the patches for the drivers side. The cab mount on the driver's side will only need a couple patches. generally, the body work is going well, just slowly. Between work and family, its hard for both of us to find time. Luckily, he's working on it with out me whenever he can. He is having fun with the project, probably because it's not his truck. Unfortunately, in the heat of battle, I keep forgetting to take pictures.
I think I'm gonna just put the manifold on with the 7 bolts and put one of those welding vise grips where the last top bolt should be. I can't get into major engine work right now. I just don't have the funds.

I haven't had much time lately. I spend too much time at work!. My neighbor has done some work on it. He says he's still having fun with it. I was out of town with Mrs. Flatbedford ALONE last weekend. Didn't get any work done on the truck, but did some other important stuff. :D :D :D Thanksgiving will consume most time off this weekend.
The floorpan on the pas. side is in. It needs a little clean up. The cab mount is ready for welding. I've got a welder lined up to burn out the last broken manifold bolt with the broken drill bit lodged in it. I'll try to get some pics on Sunday.

I'm glad it is coming along well. I'm looking forward to see pics of the broken bolt removal as well as the patch panels. Is she going to be put away for the winter when it's finished, or will you drive it all winter?

If I "put it away" it will still be in the driveway. So, no. I'd like to use the bump to get the Christmas tree this year instead of the '96. I guess I'll need another wreath for the bump's grill too. I hope!
