Well my 69 is finally started. Updated 3-08-07

Post by Big D's 69 »

I started taking all the chrome off of it the other day, but last night I have it all off. Will be taking pics of the entire teardown and reassembly of this project. I will post pics and keep you posted of progress and set backs.

Good to see another project getting started, have a good time with it and leave any frustrations behind you. Just remember take your time and think things through and all will turn out great.

Well over the weekend I got the air vents pulled out and the e-brake removed and started making templates for fiberglass kick panels that I'm getting ready to make. Had to start sheetrocking my bonus room so not much time on the truck this weekend. Need to get it out and get some pics made. I hate that part. But will get some soon to update the project.

Well just stripped the passenger side of the bed and there was about 3/8 of an inch of bondo in there. They must have not known what a body hammer was for. So I took pics and I made a decent order today to LMC truck parts. Ordered me a roll pan, pass side of the rear bed, some weatherstripping, battery tray, rear corner of the bed below tail light, tailgate relocation handle kit, 460 motor mount conversion set, new stainless steel brake lines, and a couple of other things. Man I am so glad to finally be getting started. Gonna have to order me a fuel cell and get rid of the behind the seat gas tank. I have some pics that I took last night so will try to get those posted of the horror I found. I knew it had bondo but didn't know it was that bad. Oh well that is the price you pay. Well she is gonna be a ground up restoration that is gonna be a pleasure to do.

I have some pics of it together and where I have left off. I haven't got to touch it in a month or two. SO the project has been stopped. But just need to get the pics posted and after I finish the honey to do list it will be back in full swing. Cooler weather is gonna be nice.
