opinions anyone? (caddy taillights)

I've been tinkering for awhile about putting caddy taillights in my 72. I even mane some cardboard cutouts painted them up and taped them on for a visual. It looked good and i thought with puting a filler panel on the tailgate it would be a cool look. I have never seen this on our trucks, what do you guys think.

I think that would be the dooky (that's good)! I toyed with this idea for an old '70 wreck of mine after I made it a convertible (ok, the cab was caved in and I cut it off and made a canvas top that stopped most of the rain.)
I wanted to graft in lights, and fins and split the tailgate. If you do this please post pics cause if no one buys the hayride truck I think I'll give this a shot in about a hundred years when I finish the house, the Shrektruck and the Harley. Oh yeah, and half the honey-do-list.

I've pondered both ideas at times, but I would like to see pics before jumping in to something like that.

I saw this old chevy for $1650 (I think) and it looked like a pretty decent job too.

Or this 65 off the cover of Obsolete Fords catalog A lot of stuff I would do different on that one.

Willow, I'm not sure I have any pics of that old truck. The cab was caved in in back. Someone apparently forgot all about the fridge in the bed and stomped on the brakes. Would have liked to see that.
Anyhow, I just sawzalled it leaving a 1/2" lip around the frame and bought a snap rivet kit at the sporting goods store (People's Sporting goods. Think they went out of business. If not I recommend them.).
I sewed two pieces of canvas together for a top and put the other side of the snaps on that. Put a plastic window from a camaro in back.
Not at all professional and I don't recommend that approach. I only paid 50 bucks or so for the truck and it was just a toy to destroy. Had three different size tires on it and the color may have been red before it turned to rust. I did get the Mad Max look and people got out of the way. Course it rattled and leaked and if you parked it on a tilt the doors wouldn't close right.
Could be the best 50 bucks I ever spent.
